He was dropped in past couple of days. The team with #1 priority I thought may wait until today and put a claim in, but looks like he grabbed a couple of guys via waivers last night, so now I have #2 claim priority, and #1 I just traded OeL too, so he would have no need for using it on a D. Would you claim ghost to pair with dumba? I know heツ痴 not doing great, but big upside. Other d available are guys like Hamilton, Weber, ekholm, spurgeon, Petry, Brodie, hanifin and so on. No brainer to grab ghost?

For starters, a 14-team 2C/2LW/2RW/2D/1G league is very shallow.
So, many of get used to "Ghost is available" and think it is a slam-dunk.

But, in any league, the bottom guy at any position is pretty much considered against waiver-wire.

In a 3/3/3/5/2, one still considers how good their C3 or D5 is against the waiver wire guys.

In this league, your D2 isn't going to be THAT much better than waiver wire quality.
Ghost for example, is he THAT much better than other options like Weber or Hamilton... I don't know, I don't think so.
I think that WW#1 priority IS pretty valuable.
Especially later in year when people make stupid streaming moves to win a match-up.

Personally, I'm not using it on Ghost when comparable D2s are OEL, Weber, and Dougie Hamilton (my preference).

Ghost - too - is NOT much of an even-strength producer of points.
He's been excellent in Hakstol's system as the point-man on PP1 and when playing situations like 3-on-3 OT... but he's poor at even-strength.

So... new coach is about to come in for PHI.
    Just keep that in mind.
And everything could change for PHI...
    Just keep that in mind.

I'm not burning my WW#1 in this shallow format, not on Ghost.

It痴 not a head to head format, and I traded OEL as I知 in 11th, and re tooling/rebuilding, and I致e had #1 claim priority multiple times, people make claims throughout the year. I get your overall points, but Weber is a big injury risk and pretty old, Hamilton hasn稚 produced much at all (<1 fp/g), and ghost has the highest upside. I don稚 care between even strength and pp, I just want points in general, and I think he pairs well with dumba. And Hamilton, Weber and Ghost should all be owned, just sometimes guys get impatient and drop guys, or have other d options from within and prefer them. I think it痴 grest I moved Oel and can replace him with a solid #2, and all 3 of the guys I mentioned are better options than the others I mentioned (ie: Montour, ekblad, etc), and I知 getting them for free. My waiver priority will climb again as other teams make claims, and I知 well out of the money for this year anyways, plus with what I said about guys making claims all the time, no need to wait.

Ghost is a no brainer. He had a much better second half last year.

I love when you drop in on a thread and strip things back to the black and white. I have learned more about team construction from your posts than from any other. Thanks again.

I'm unsure. I think there's a real danger Gostisbehere is dealt by Holmgren for goalie help before they get another GM in - which I think he'll delay if he can.

I thought so too, who would be your 2nd choice if for some reason the team with #1 priority grabs him? I doubt they will, as I just traded them OEL, and they have Hedman already.

He is sitting at not even a full roster (he dropped Silfverberg tonight), and he'll have to drop 1 more by 3 am sat morning because he's bringing in OEL, Kopitar and Pavelski (2 separate deals with him), where I wound up with picks and Kadri (as a depth piece). So basically it's Kopitar and OEL for Ghost, Kadri and a 4. And I traded him Pav for a 3rd. My team is going off tonight, but I'm still 130 pts out of first lol.

It'd be pretty annoying if he grabs Ghost, it just mean's he'd make the claim, then have to drop 2 guys before the trade goes through.

I'll still put in a secondary claim just in case, but who would you use it on Weber or Hamilton?

I still think it's a good claim, considering the upside, and the fact I do need a D, and it's just a waiver priority, so yeah I'll go to the bottom, but then move back up as other guys make claims.

Ghost is an elite PP specialist on a sweetheart contract, the chances he gets traded are slim to none IMO.

True, I'm in 9th, but moved Pavelski, Kopitar and OEL for mid-round picks, would you trade my Wheeler for Voracek and a 1st? The offer was initially a 4th, but the 1st really has my interested. I know Voracek isn't Wheeler, but they're still similar players.

Just wanted to let you know my claim for Ghost went through, so I went from Dumba and OEL to Dumba and Ghost.

I'll update my signature after moving Kopitar, Pavelski and OEL and picking up Ghost (via waivers), and Kadri.

I didn't get a great pick for Kopitar and OEL (4th), but I was able to replace OEL anyways, and Kopitar was expiring this year, and yeah has heated up recently but is on a 60 pt pace. I got a 3rd for Pav, who isn't a keeper for me, and that I'd be dropping after the year anyways.

I'll just plug Carter into my lineup where Kopi was, and with Boeser healthy I have 7 forwards to start still anyways: Barkov, Carter, Keller, Lee, Boeser, Wheeler, Meier (hopefully back soon).

So many posts about a powerplay specialist recently. He's the type of player I don't want to own when his stock goes down because it'll plummet.
